I was one of those children that my mother tried to teach piano to when I was young, but I would not sit still long enough to learn anything. I had no desire to learn to play the piano, especially if it meant sitting still for hours at a time. Because, let's face it, who wants to learn like that? When I was older, I found myself suddenly curious if I could learn to play, and soon found my passion for music.

I have been teaching piano and voice to young children, teens, and adults for the past 10 years, and even before that as a high schooler as a part of my teacher's studio. I earned my bachelors degree in Music Education from Brigham Young University-Idaho. While there, I assistant-directed University choirs and accompanied vocalists. I then began my journey as a private piano and vocal instructor. I’ve always sought to keep up to date on the best practices and be a part of the music teaching community.

This drive to continue to improve led me to discover and fall in love with Let's Play Music. This curriculum is by far the best I have found for giving a good musical foundation to young children. After finding this program, there is just no going back!

Music is important to my family; my husband is a music teacher in a nearby public school, and our five children have been singing, dancing, and learning piano and any other instruments we get our hands on. We strive to lift and better our community through the joy of music wherever we go!
